BRADENTON, Fla. – No matter how talented a college coach may be, one thing that cannot be taught is size. Out of Georgia’s Bradwell Institute, Antonio Walthour Jr. has added two inches to his frame since last summer now towering over the rest of us at 6-4, 285 pounds, with the skills to play all five positions along the offensive trenches. With the hard work being put into his game, D-I interest is coming his way.
Walthour listed the teams reaching out, “Georgia Southern, Penn State, Air Force, and Georgia State.”
An offer could be coming out of Colorado Springs soon.
“Air Force’s coach, coach (Charlie) Jackson (DB), he hit me up telling me he wants to offer after seeing how the spring goes, but that isn’t official yet,” Walthour said.
Ready to prove his skills, Walthour will make the rounds this summer at college camps.
“I am going to Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Fort Valley, Florida, Florida State, and a couple of mega camps,” Walthour stated.
Asked what his skills are as an offensive lineman, Walthour responded, “My footwork and I am all about technique. You can’t do anything without technique. You have to have technique and footwork.”
Walthour continued, “I’d say most people overlook my feet. Most people think it is about hand placement, but as the saying goes, “hot feet eat”. I have the hot feet. As long as I keep my feet moving, I’m good.”
Looking to the collegiate level, Walthour is preparing to play wherever asked.
“When I went to the UCF camp last summer, they wanted to see me at center because I was 6-2 then,” Walthour said. “I know I will either be playing guard or center. I have been working on my snapping at school. I work on all of the positions just in case. Whatever my coach needs me to do, I work on all of the positions.”
