There is no coincidence seeing high school seniors playing their best ball when all the chips are on the table. The proverbial light bulb has gone off signaling a wake-up call that it is now or never. A wake-up call has come in for Rancho Cucamonga Class of 2019 receiver Jordan Aldridge. The 6-3, 185-pound, athlete has too much next level potential to not push his game forward as best as possible. With offseason workouts underway with the Cougars and with his 7v7 team Rharebreed, I got a few minutes in with Aldridge for a RNG exclusive interview.
Interview
Jordan, how did your game develop during your junior season?
“My game developed by training at Rharebreed. That made me a better player. Working with the guys at Rancho, that made me a better player as well.”
What do you do well on the field as a receiver?
“I feel like going up and getting the ball at the high point and creating separation are some of the things I do best as a receiver.”
Will you play any other positions during your senior year?
“Safety.”
Are you excited about playing safety during your senior year?
“Since I was young guy playing the game, I have always loved coming down and delivering that blow. Playing the ball is second-hand to me.”
Are you playing 7v7 ball this spring?
“I am playing with Rharebreed.”
How is playing with Rharebreed pushing your game forward?
“They have a lot of guys being recruited. Playing against them makes me better and prepares me for the season.”
Overall, what are you focused on this offseason with your game?
“I am mainly focused on my change of direction, I’m trying to get better at that, and perfecting my routes.”
Have you attended any camps or combines this spring?
“I have attended a Rise and Fire camp and an Adidas camp.”
How did the Rise and Fire camp go?
“It was very productive. The coaches there made it easy to retain the information. They pushed me harder. I liked it.”
Do you have any camps planned upcoming?
“I am going to some college camps; Coach Rob has that itinerary for me.”
Which college programs are showing interest?
“Air Force, Cornell, and Harvard.”
Which visits to college programs have you taken so far?
“I went to San Jose State last year. We have some planned visits coming up, but I’m not sure where yet. I believe we will most likely visit Arizona, Arizona State, and Cal.”
If a college coach reads this interview, and wants to start recruiting you, what type of student-athlete are they investing time in with you?
“I am a go-getter. I work as hard as possible. I push myself to become my best, and I will continue to work.”
Last question. What do you love about the game of football?
“I love football. It started when I was young. I fell in love with the sport then. When I was six-years-old. I just love it.”
Jordan, thanks for your time today and good luck with your upcoming camps and visits.
“Thank you.”
