With the recruiting clock winding down on the 2024 class, Chase Quarterman (6-1, 200) is putting himself in position to extend his playing career on the gridiron. Working against Florida offenses for West Boca Raton High School, Quarterman is attacking the edge as an outside linebacker/end producing results. The Bulls are 5-1 on the season against 3M competition storming towards the playoffs.
Quarterman updated the action on the field for his squad midway through the schedule.
“It has been going pretty good,” Quarterman said. “I am looking forward to playing (Coconut) Creek (4-2). This is a big game and a district game.”
Being that team player, Quarterman is doing what he can to extend the action on the field this season.
“Right now, I am starting at defensive end,” Quarterman stated. “We were lacking lineman, my coaches asked me to play end. We run a 4-3 and 3-4; I stand up in a two point. I’m improving using my hands and showcasing my speed off the ball. I excel at pass rushing because I am so quick at defensive end.”
An opportunity was had over the weekend to push his recruitment forward with a game-day visit to UCF.
“I loved the atmosphere at UCF,” Quarterman shared. “I talked to a lot of coaches, it was a meet and greet kind of thing.”
Quarterman continued sharing his experiences at the Bounce House, “I was there with coach Brandon (Odoi). We went to where you eat, met all the coaches, and I learned how it is to be a D-I player. We went on the field; it was an amazing experience. It would be amazing to have the opportunity to play in front of a huge crowd like that.”
A Saturday with the Hurricanes is in the works.
“I am trying to get on the list for a Miami game soon,” Quarterman said. “Miami has been one of my top schools since moving to Florida (from Atlanta). Miami is my home school; I would love to play for them. We played in a 7-on-7 tournament there this summer, I loved the campus.”
