The high school football career for Jake Foggia is just taking off, but is already off to a great start. The Class of 2020 recruit cut his teeth with Shore Regional High School last season, but will suit up with Red Bank Catholic High School for his junior campaign. His snaps with the Blue Devils and offseason camp proficiency with guru Chris Rubio has earned Foggia a four-star ranking, third overall in his class in the northeast. In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I sat down with the New Jersey product for a one-on-one covering his offseason workouts and planned summer camps.
Interview
Jake, how are your offseason workouts coming along?
“They are going great so far. We are working out three times a week.”
Where are you seeing the biggest improvements with your snapping this spring?
“I’m seeing improvement in my speed and accuracy.”
Is there an aspect of your snap technique you are focused on this spring?
“My confidence. With my technique, leaning back and following through with my snaps.”
What is the range of your snap speed?
“My snap speed is .74 to .78. At the (Chris) Rubio camp in Las Vegas, I average .75.”
As mentioned, you recently competed at the Chris Rubio camp in Las Vegas, how did that go for you?
“It went really well. I scored a 31 on the target. Overall, it was a great camp.”
What were some of the things you did well at that camp?
“My accuracy and my spiral.”
Do you have any other camps upcoming you may attend?
“I am going to a Rubio camp in Charlotte on June 30. For college camps, I am going to Monmouth College this summer.”
It is still very early in your process, but which schools are already showing recruiting interest but have not offered you yet?
“Texas A&M – they invited me to one of their camps.”
How is everything going in the classroom?
“Great. I have a 3.3 GPA.”
Nice. What is your favorite subject in school?
“Math.”
Last couple of questions, back to football. With the Caseys, how have spring practices gone?
“We start practice in 24 days.”
Do you guys run straight through with practices into the season?
“Yes. We practice at least twice a week all the way through until season starts.”
In addition to being the team snapper, where else might you play during your junior season?
“I don’t know yet. They want me to play center, but I’m not sure yet.”
Jake, thanks for your time today and good luck with the summer practices and camps.
“Thank you.”
