The state of Georgia is nonstop across the board producing next level stars. From the 2024 class that just signed to the ’25 group receiving the lion’s share of the spotlight, the Peach State is the place to be when looking for collegiate difference makers. When the 2028 cycle gets their day in the sun, Prince Amari Aminu (5-11, 150) is working to be one of those guys programs have atop their recruiting board.
Working the pigskin around the yard for Woodward Academy’s (College Park) eighth grade team, Aminu filled in the stat sheet with 1,403 yards passing while throwing for 21 scores with 11 rushing touchdowns all in just eight games.
“We ran a Spread,” Aminu said. “We were passing the ball around. Sometimes we’d go trips, four out, and sometimes we’d go empty. We did a little under center too. We ran a pro-style offense really.”
The playbook allowed Aminu to connect on all the routes.
“We ran slants, outs, go routes, corners, and we did quick game routes like curls and hitches,” Aminu stated.
The style of play was explained.
“I am a dual threat, I like to run and pass the ball,” Aminu shared. “I am fast, I can get out of the pocket fast.”
When the 2024 schedule kicks off, Aminu is preparing for varsity time.
“This offseason I am working on processing and reading the defenses, knowing where I need to go with the ball pre-snap,” Aminu said. “I am working on reading coverages. I am also working in the weight room and on my speed. I want to add weight to be on the field with the varsity guys next year.”
Like all the great ones do, they learn from the best of the best.
“I watch Joe Burrow,” Aminu stated. “He reads the field fast, gets the ball out quick, and he knows where to go with the ball pre-snap. I like watching Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has a good arm and gets out of the pocket quick.”
This spring Aminu will get extra time against various coverages playing 7-on-7 ball with Hunter Elite.
