One to Watch Interview with Green Oaks 2020 DL Christopher Larry Jr.

Christopher Larry Jr has been a force on the defensive line as the Green Oaks Giants have been rebuilding their program under the tenure of Coach Terrence Isaac Jr. The Giants reached the playoffs in 2018 after a two-year absence but fell in the first round to Wossman 32-26 in double overtime. In 2019, Larry and the rest of his teammates are looking to build off a successful 2018 season and make an even deeper postseason run.

During his junior campaign, the 5-9, 225-pound, defensive lineman had 71 total tackles including 11 for a loss, six sacks, and four forced fumbles. The Class of 2020 prospect is currently drawing interest from several colleges after being named second-team All-District after his junior season. Larry has been working hard all summer and is determined to be an even bigger force during his final season in a Green Oaks uniform.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I sat down with Christopher to discuss his career at Green Oaks and his recruiting process.

First off, Christopher, what are your thoughts on your individual performance during your junior season?

“I think I did good but I’m determined to be even better this season.”

What was your most memorable moment last year?

“The game against North Webster where I had two sacks in the first half.”

Did you receive any individual honors?

“Second team All-District.”

What are your strengths on the football field?

“My drive and strength.”

Are there any schools showing you interest?

“Birmingham-Southern and several others.”

What current NFL player do you like to compare yourself too?

“Khalil Mack (Chicago Bears).”

What is your max squat in the weight room?

“270.”

What did you work on the most this summer?

“My footwork.”

What game on the schedule are you most looking forward to this season?

“The game against Captain Shreve.”

What are your individual and team goals for your senior season?

“As a team, we want to win state. Personally, I want to have more sacks this season.”

What do you like the most about playing for Coach Isaac at Green Oaks?

“He always pushes us to go the extra mile and get to the next level.”
