Razorbacks send recruiting letters to top Louisiana target’s girlfriend

College recruiters look for any angle they can get to help sway top targets to sign with their respective program. The Arkansas Razorbacks are no different.

The SEC West is by far the most competitive division in all of college football and all is fair in love and war, especially in love as is the case of recruiting Caleb Roddy.

Arkansas, hoping to sway all within Roddy’s sphere of influence, has begun recruiting his girlfriend, Bailey Clary. On Monday Clary posted a picture of 15 recruiting letters the Razorbacks sent her letting her know how important she is and how important Roddy is to Arkansas’ 2016 recruiting class.

Bailey liked the ploy posting the picture of the letters on her Twitter account while scribing, “When you boyfriends top college gets ahold of your address…. #Feelingthelove #WPS #GoHogs.”

Roddy is a 6’5”, 248 pound, strongside defensive end from Denham Spring High School in Denham Springs, Louisiana. The 3-star recruit has 16 listed offers from top programs from across the nation including Arizona State, Tennessee, San Diego State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Illinois, and Arkansas State among others. Recruiters took note of Roddy’s junior season after he racked up 79 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 12 sacks, 5 pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles.

How Roddy’s recruitment may play out is of interest considering Bailey currently attends LSU. The rub is LSU has yet to offer her boyfriend a scholarship and Roddy has been vocal about Arkansas being his top college choice. Among the schools Roddy has taken unofficial visits to include LSU, Mississippi State, Tulane, Louisiana Lafayette, TCU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.

Roddy visited the Arkansas campus on April 7, posting four pictures on his Twitter account from his time in Fayetteville writing, “Had an AMAZING visit at Arkansas today!! #WPS #HogNation.”
