Interview

Julian, the Tigers have had an amazing season thus far posting a 9-0 record. What has been clicking for the team leading to the overall success?

Our team chemistry. We’ve played better as we’ve gone along this season. We have great coaches putting us in great position to succeed. All the credit goes to the coaches and Coach Will (head coach Elijah Williams).

On offense, what set are you guys running?

We run a Spread.

What do you feel is the identity of the offense?

It depends on the game. We are balanced, we can run or throw it. It all depends on the looks from the defense.

What is your role in the scheme? How are the coaches utilizing your talents?

I’m an X factor. It is hard to plan for me. I can escape from the pocket and make the throws downfield when they blitz and I can pick you apart when they drop.

How are you seeing your overall skills develop this season?

My biggest improvement is settling down, my composure and being a great leader. My deep ball is better than last year.

In which game this season did you turn in your best performance?

It was in our second game of the season against Lake Nona (Orlando). I had five touchdowns.

After all the game experience this year, what do you now feel are the strengths to your overall game?

Escaping, and when things breakdown making something out of nothing.

You guys get Jesuit (Tampa) next, what kind of game are you expecting from them?

They are a good fundamentally sound team. We have to hit our keys and execute. It will be a good game. We should come out with the victory if we execute.

Let’s close out talking about recruiting. Which schools are showing interest in you?

Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, and Temple.

How many offers do you have now?

Four.

Which program was the first to offer you?

The Florida Gators.

Which was the last?

FAU.

Next year, when visits get going again, which programs would you like to go see?

I’d like to see Florida again, I have been back and forth there since my freshman year. I went to a Junior Day there the last time I visited. I’d love to go to Arkansas.

Julian, thanks for your time today. Wishing you and the Tigers success the rest of the way.

Thank you, sir.
