Watching the evolution of Rasean Dinkins’ (6-0, 180) skills on the field, the Class of 2025 prospect is a defensive playmaker. From covering slots, going one-on-one on the outside, and protecting Warner Robins High School deep, Dinkins has showcased his abilities over and over again against Georgia 5A competition. With 13 offers in hand, the recruiting process for Dinkins is heating up.
Being that guy in the secondary that can do anything asked, Dinkins spoke about his junior campaign in the Demons’ scheme.
“I was at free and strong safety; I was moving around a lot this year,” Dinkins said. “They had me at Stud too; we’d play with three safeties, a middle, outside, and boundary.”
On which position he likes best, Dinkins replied, “Wherever the team needs me, I will be there.”
College coaches see Dinkins as that next level difference maker at safety.
“They like my aggression, my cover skills, my tackling in open field, and my size,” Dinkins stated.
The offer sheet is lined with squads like Cincinnati, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, NC State, and West Virginia.
“I am receiving interest from a couple of schools; Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Wake Forest,” Dinkins shared.
With West Virginia, Florida State, and Georgia Tech among the teams making the heaviest contact, two of those teams welcomed the four-star to campus this fall.
“I went to FSU and Georgia Tech,” Dinkins stated.
Details to the time in Tallahassee were shared, “It was great. I had a good conversation with their coaches, and I met some of the players.”
A strong connection with the Seminoles’ staff is developing.
“FSU, they treat me like family,” Dinkins said. “We have a great bond. I feel like I am already part of the program.”
The time spent in Atlanta was worthwhile.
“It was great,” Dinkins shared. “I learned a lot about the school and their culture.”
The rapport with the Yellow Jackets is also strong.
“Our relationship, it is about the same as FSU,” Dinkins stated. “They treat me like family.”
When the calendar flips to 2024, there are two teams Dinkins would like to visit.
“I will probably go to Oklahoma, and I will try to go to West Virginia,” Dinkins said.
Dinkins spoke about what is important to him during this stretch of his recruiting journey, “I am looking for a team with a great atmosphere, great education, and where the teammates are just like family.”
