The lone coaching vacancy left open on the Arkansas Razorbacks staff when Sam Pittman left at the end of the 2015 season for the same position at Georgia was reportedly filled on Saturday by Kurt Anderson.
Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema reached into the NFL level to fill the position with Anderson. Anderson is a former University of Michigan two-year letterman starting at center before graduating in 2001 after being a part of the Wolverines 1998 National Championship team.
The Arizona Cardinals gave Anderson a shot at playing in the NFL in 2002 before he began his coaching career. Anderson has coaching stints at Indiana State, Michigan as a graduate assistant, and Eastern Michigan where he spent five seasons starting out as the tight ends coach before taking over as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Under Anderson’s guidance with the Eagles, EMU produced an effective rushing attack ending the 2011 season ranked as the nation’s No. 14 rushing attack coming up with 2,620 yards.
Since 2013, Anderson has been with the Buffalo Bills as an assistant offensive line coach working with Pat Morris directing one of the NFL’s top ground games.
