Defenders may have experience on Aiden Knox, for now, but what the 2026 prospect has in the tank most cannot keep up with. Since the seventh grade Knox (6-0, 165) has been an elite track star earning All-American honors in the 100- and 200-meter events. The holder of five state of Mississippi track records is taking his receiver skills on tour this summer beginning with a stop at Mississippi State on Saturday.
The rising talent for Clinton High School has another record on the track he is aiming for before officially becoming a sophomore.
“My personal best in the 100 is a 10.85 and a 22.64 in the 200,” Knox said. “I set the eighth-grade state records in the 100 and 200, I am trying to break 10.5 this summer to set that record.”
That speed will be utilized with the Arrows this fall.
“I will be playing strictly receiver this year, and they have me on kick and punt return,” Knox stated.
With track winding down and football taking over, Knox is motivated this summer to push his skills forward.
“I am working on my route running, getting separation, and expanding my route tree,” Knox shared. “I am working on making all my routes perfect.”
The first Division-I offer is on the books from Penn State. Knox spoke about receiving the opportunity, “It was exciting. That was my first D-I offer; I appreciated it. That was a huge deal for me; I’ve been working hard to get that offer.”
A Big Ten program may have been the first to offer, but SEC teams are leaning in on Knox.
“I know Arkansas, Ole Miss, Georgia, Mississippi State, LSU, and schools like that are showing interest,” Knox said.
Georgia hosted Knox on a visit this spring.
“During the Georgia visit, I watched them practice,” Knox stated. “They have nice facilities. Their coaches are good people. They treated me well there; I talked to their coaches. They had an arcade room, I liked that. I had never seen that at a college before.”
Knox continued, “I talked to coach (Fran) Brown (DB) and their receivers coach, coach (Bryan) McClendon. Coach Brown treated me well. I can tell he has interest in me. I would love to go back to Georgia soon.”
A busy summer camp rotation begins on Saturday for Knox.
“I know I am going to a Mississippi State camp this Saturday, then LSU, Georgia, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and JSU (Jackson State),” Knox said.
Knox has a personal mission while he’s in Starkville.
“I’ve always wanted to go to camps, but I couldn’t because of track,” Knox shared. “Mississippi State was the first to invite me. I want to visit, compete, and show my talents.”
