What was a tight game in the first half started to turn into a runaway win for Archbishop Rummel (3-0) in the second in a 27-16 win over Wayne County (2-2) Friday night.

The story of the game was Raiders quarterback Chase Fourcade tossing three touchdown passes. Fourcade ended the game 13-of-20 for 184 yards finding receiver Brett Eschette twice. Eschette struck first just before halftime on a 14-yard score. The second connection was midway through the third quarter on a 24-yard pass down the right sideline.

The Raiders were tough on defense throughout the game with defensive end/defensive lineman Briston Guidry (Arkansas) making his presence felt throughout the game. Class of 2017 linebacker Shahid Reece was all over the field making plays as well. In the first half Reece had a sack and an interception limiting the War Eagles scoring options. Highly recruited cornerback Kristian Fulton was rarely tested throughout the game.

For the War Eagles, a game in 2015 will not be complete without mentioning defensive lineman Benito Jones. Jones used his quick first step and raw power to be a disruption for the Raiders all night.

In the fourth quarter Wayne County started to mount a comeback scoring twice in the final 10 minutes. Reggie Stewart connected with Ramiek Wallace on a 40-yard touchdown pass and Schdarius Chambers got a 24-yard touchdown run for the final score.

The Raiders posted 204 yards of total offense while the War Eagles had 318 yards of offense, 194 on the ground and 124 in the air.

Wayne County goes on the road to Jackson next week to face Wingfield (1-3) while Rummel travels to New Jersey to face national power Don Bosco Prep (2-1).
