Putting the hot sauce on the pigskin with Lely High School (Naples, FL) during his junior year, Carter Quinn (6-0, 180) broke records. The three-star prospect covered 2,500 yards in the air, 257 on the ground, and posted 28 total scores on the board. The school record for passing yards has brought four offers and power programs stopping by to see Quinn in person.
Insight to the Trojans’ offense was given by Quinn, “We are a fast-paced offense running the Pistol and RPO (run-pass option). We are a little bit of everything. We spread it out, and we are fast paced.”
Asked about how his skillset grew over the fall months, Quinn replied, “I’d say I improved overall quarterback wise. My passing, fully reading the field, understanding defenses, and ripping it around comfortably improved.”
The knowledge Quinn has accumulated helped the three-star break records.
“My IQ is an overlooked part of my game,” Quinn stated. “Having the freedom to call some of the plays, the audibles, going over to the sideline to talk to my coaches, and talking to the offense letting them know what I see; my on field football IQ is overlooked.”
Former Miami Hurricanes (2015-18) QB Malik Rosier is working with Quinn this offseason with eyes set on breaking more records.
“We do everything from on the field, zoom meetings, and simple band work – we do everything,” Quinn said. “We do a lot of arm angle stuff, knowing where your arm needs to be on certain throws, especially when defensive linemen are coming at you. We are working on moving in the pocket and throwing on the run; one step hitch and out route throws. We are working on everything.”
The offering teams for Quinn include Ball State, Marshall, West Virginia, and Western Kentucky.
The schools scouting Quinn were listed, “Southern Miss, Indiana State, Old Dominion, Bowling Green, FIU, and FAU.”
Marshall, FAU, and USF hosted Quinn for games this fall. The time in Huntington with the offering Thundering Herd was well spent.
“It was a great visit,” Quinn shared. “I want to meet the new head coach (Tony Gibson). I met the old staff; I plan to meet the new coaching staff. I like the campus a lot, where it is, and everything about it. I want to meet them and see what is up.”
Heading up I-75 to see the Bulls was a great experience for the 2026 prospect.
“It was good,” Quinn stated. “I got to connect with some of the coaches. USF is awesome because they are in the Bucs’ stadium; that is cool. The student section was loud too.”
College coaches are stopping in Naples to see Quinn.
“Marshall, USF, Illinois, FIU, and FAU coaches have come by to see me,” Quinn added.
The relationship between Quinn and the Bulls’ staff continues to grow.
“It was a good meeting,” Quinn shared. “They want to get me up for a Junior Day; they keep recruiting me. They love getting players on campus. Coach (Alex) Golesh is big getting players on campus.”
The new Thundering Herd staff is keeping the recruiting bonds going.
“The biggest one reaching out is Marshall,” Quinn said. “They show a lot of love. They are also big on getting me to campus. They are going to come down to see me at school.”
College scouts will get to see more of Quinn’s arm talent this spring and summer in 7-on-7 tournaments with Southwest Florida Express.
