Crushing it only gives a little bit of detail to the junior season LaDarian Clardy is turning in with Escambia High School. The Pensacola (Fla.) squad has jumped out to a 5-1 start with their multipurpose skill player doing all. Heads are turning in the stands and along the recruiting trail when Clardy (6-0, 175) springs into action. The productivity has recruiting action heating up for the 2025 talent.
Taking on Florida 3S competition, Clardy covered the Gators season to date.
“It is going great,” Clardy stated. “Perfect. My coach has me playing offense too. I play safety, I knew I was doing my part on defense, but they are throwing me in on offense. I have three receptions with three TDs, one rushing TD, 27 tackles, four interceptions, and about five passes broken up. It is going great. This is my best season so far.”
Displaying the overall athleticism and skills on defense has college coaches reaching out.
“I think I am showcasing that I am the best talent in 2025,” Clardy said. “My dad pushed me to be the best for my age. This year, coaches are hitting me up like crazy. I am trying to soak it in.”
Teams have dropped 13 offers. The interest streaming in was listed by Clardy, “Florida State, Auburn, Duke, Marshall, Louisville, Stanford, Coastal Carolina, and Cincinnati.”
The spike in recruiting attention is getting Clardy out to college campuses this fall.
“I’ve visited Mississippi State, and I am going to Duke vs. Florida State on Oct. 21,” Clardy shared.
Details to the Starkville trip were given, “It went great. For my first game visit (vs. Arizona), it was perfect. They showed mad love, and from the whole coaching staff. It was what I expected.”
Clardy spoke about the vibe in Davis Wade Stadium, “It was great. For my first visit, it was crazy. When they scored a touchdown, the whole stadium was shaking. What also got me, they went into overtime. When they won (31-24), the fans went crazy.”
The Seminoles have welcomed Clardy to campus before, but not with Doak Campbell Stadium packed with fans.
“Every time I go there, I have been there a couple of times, they show mad love,” Clardy stated. “They hit me up on Twitter. I am excited to go. I’ve been watching them on TV, they are having a perfect season. Coach (Mike) Norvell said it would be a different season this year, he is a man of his word.”
More trips are in the works for the three-star prospect.
“I might go to Vanderbilt, but that is not set, and Kentucky vs. Mississippi State,” Clardy said. “I have a few other game invites; I have to figure out my schedule.”
The Commodores offered on Sept. 27 and has kept the communication out of Nashville active.
“Our relationship has been going great,” Clardy shared. “They offered last week. Since they offered, coach Jamaal Richardson (QC) has been hitting me up making sure I am okay.”
Some of the offering programs for Clardy include Tulane, South Florida, Troy, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Charlotte, and Arkansas State.
