SEC teams impacting 2024 Alabama three-star CB Tevis Metcalf’s recruitment
The recruiting journey for 2024 Alabama cornerback Tevis Metcalf is ongoing with some big exposure camps on the schedule. Opportunities and new interest are coming to the Parker High School prospect, but SEC teams, and future SEC teams, are making a big impact. Metcalf visited six programs with ties to the Power Five conference in March, but will add ACC and Pac-12 teams to his travel schedule in April.
ACC teams are taking a closer look at Metcalf and his talents.
“More schools are hitting me up now, Virginia’s DB coach hit me up a couple of minutes ago,” Metcalf said. “Louisville, North Carolina, and Texas. I visited Texas last week. I got to meet their DB coach (Terry Joseph). Northwestern is showing interest. LSU, one of their coaches out of Jacksonville State that offered me went to LSU.”
Throughout the month of March, Metcalf visited six teams: Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Texas, and Mississippi State. The time spent in Fayetteville with the Hogs was informative and allowed him to see his older brother TJ Metcalf in action.
“Arkansas went well,” Metcalf said. “They sat me down and let me sit in the back like a player with a note pad. I took notes and I got to see how they run things. Then we went out to practice, I got to see how they correct mistakes.”
Staying in-state with the Tigers provided some of the same opportunities.
“It went well,” Metcalf stated. “I got the same thing as I did at Arkansas. I got to sit in on the meetings; I sat in with the corners. I sat in the team defensive meeting then I sat in with the corners. I watched them go over tape. Coach (Wesley) McGriff (CB), I watched him correct mistakes. I saw them practice, it was very interesting.”
The trip to Gainesville has helped push the recruiting tie between Metcalf and the Gators’ staff.
“It was pretty good,” Metcalf said. “They are now recruiting me a little more. It was good to see how their DB coaches his players. Coach (Corey) Raymond, he puts a lot of guys in the league.”
Metcalf covered his upcoming visit schedule.
“Georgia Tech, I am going to Arkansas and Auburn’s spring game, and I am going to Colorado on April 22 for their spring game. I will be at UAB this week, on Thursday.”
A list of favorites may be dropped soon, and with that the teams Metcalf will officially visit starting this summer.
“I am planning on doing a couple in June, but I don’t know to which schools yet,” Metcalf said.
Metcalf played for Pinson Valley during the 2022 season announcing early today his transfer to Parker High School playing under head coach Frank Warren.
