As the modern high school football player goes, James Randle is as quiet as it gets on social media letting his play do the talking. The four-star out of Daytona Beach’s (Fla.) Homestead High School has kept his head down working on his game this offseason. With summer break coming up, a big turn towards recruiting is ahead that is sure to make some noise.
College programs have made Homestead an important stop on their Sunshine State tour this spring.
“Maryland just came to my school, Akron came today to school, and Penn State came out to our practice,” Randle shared. “USF came to two or three of our practices. Miami came up to school as well.”
In addition to Maryland, Penn State, and Akron showing interest, ACC and SEC teams are reaching out to Randle.
“Tennessee, Pitt is still reaching out, and Florida, those are the top ones,” Randle stated. “Miami is every now and again.”
Three visits are being worked on for Randle.
“Tennessee, I might be going there coming up,” Randle said. “We are working on a date. I want to visit Pittsburgh, and I want to visit Georgia; I don’t have an offer from them yet.”
A trip to Knoxville would be a learning experience for Randle.
“I want to go visit the campus and feel the vibe,” Randle stated. “I want to see what it is like. I like how they run their offense and their team.”
A visit with the Panthers would further bond prospect with the program.
“I love them,” Randle shared. “It was a lot of fun being there (last year). The thing being connected to the Steelers was really interesting. It was good there. I liked it up there, I need to go visit up there again.”
Taking trips on college program’s charge cards is in process.
“In a couple of weeks, I will have all of that lined up,” Randle said. “That is what I am working on with my coaches.”
