If Georgia fans were worried about the team losing their rich tradition of pounding the ball on the ground against SEC competition, the fretting should be over with the addition of another four-star running back to the 2017 class in D’Andre Swift.

Swift helped St. Joseph’s Prep to a 7-3 record in 2015 as an all-purpose back showing he can do just about anything he wants with the ball in his hands. The top ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania is a one-cut back with the speed to score from anywhere on the field but can also lower the boom on second level defenders if they get in his way. The 5-9.5, 214 pound, talent can catch the ball out of the backfield and can put six on the board quick on kickoff returns.

The announcement came via a post on Twitter. Swift posted, “It’s finally here, I have made my decision…” followed by a Bleacher Report commitment video straight out of a Rocky movie. Swift ran through the streets of Philly announcing “Go Dawgs” at the end standing on the outer rim of a Georgia logo.

Georgia picked up Swift’s commitment after an announced top five of Penn State, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and Georgia that was narrowed down from some 24 collegiate offers. Swift is the second four-star commit heading to Athens in the 2017 class. Texas running back Toneil Carter committed on July 10.

The hype around Swift goes beyond his college potential, his Hawks squad is rated as the 6A preseason No. 1 team in Pennsylvania.
