SMU Secures Commitment No. 11 with 2017 Dallas LB Shaine Hailey

SMU’s scouting department continues to pull highly productive players from within the Lone Star State securing Bishop Dunne outside linebacker Shaine Hailey on Friday.
Hailey was a big part of the Falcons 12-1 team in 2015 manning up as a weak-side linebacker. Hailey, listed at 6’0”, 205 pounds, showed he could stop the run, rush the edge, and cover the slot against Division-I Texas talent.
Finding Hailey for SMU was not too difficult being a Dallas area native. Landing Hailey came without too much of a fight. Hailey’s other reported offers were from Air Force, Holy Cross, and Northern Colorado. The Mustangs offered on May 11.

SMU now has 11 verbal commitments to their 2017 class. Six of the recruits are slated to play defense at the next level.
