If South Carolina fans vaguely remember the name Dennis Daley but cannot place a finger on from where or why, the talented offensive tackle was a member of the Gamecocks recruiting class in 2015. On Friday, USC got another verbal commitment from the former Ridge View High School (Columbia) star as an addition this time to the 2017 class.
Daley was a late addition to the 2015 class committing on Jan. 23, 2015. After spending the 2015 season with an 8-4 Georgia Military College squad, Daley was once again offered by South Carolina becoming the third member of the 2017 class.
Teams stayed away from Daley with the thought that the 6’6”, 310 pound, tackle was a lock to return to his home state school. The Gamecocks liked the progress they saw in Daley with the big man appears in six games for the Bulldogs in 2015. The Bulldogs were a balanced team last season passing for 171 yards per game and rushing for 189.
On Feb. 1, Daley reaffirmed his commitment to South Carolina on Twitter posting, “I would like to announce that I am still 100% committed to play football at the university [sic] of SC #SpursUp.”
