South Carolina Keeps 2017 OT Jordan Rhodes away from other SEC Programs

The Gamecocks took another big step forward in completing their 2017 recruiting class on Sunday with the announcement of Georgia’s Jordan Rhodes to the haul.
Rhodes was an under the radar recruit despite eight reported offers with heavy SEC interest. The 6-6, 300 pound, tackle left it all on the field for Creekside High School helping the Seminoles to a 5-5 finish in 2016. The Fairburn area product had offers from Southern Miss, Mercer, Louisiana-Monroe, Georgia State, and Cincinnati.
The recruiting battle appeared to be down to Missouri, Mississippi State, and USC. The Gamecocks made good use of Rhodes first of three SEC scheduled official visits nabbing him before trips to Mississippi State on Jan. 20 and Missouri on Jan. 27. Rhodes visited USC over the weekend shutting down his recruitment going forward.
The Gamecocks now have 23 verbal commits to their class. 247Sports rates South Carolina’s 2017 recruiting class No. 15 in the nation which is only seventh best in the SEC.
