Etiwanda cornerback/safety Treyjohn Butler has been a force on California gridirons for three years now. During his sophomore year he picked off seven passes and tallied 35 tackles as opposing offensive coordinators were slow to figure out that this kid can play.

Butler saw his recruiting stock rise during the 2014 season even though teams did the best they could to stay away from him. He had 16 solo tackles, 28 total, and one pick. During Butler’s first six games of his senior campaign he has 29 tackles, 1 quarterback hurry, and 7 passes defended.

The 5’11”, 190 pound, cover corner committed to Stanford in late August shutting down what would have been a bigger frenzy for his verbal commitment. As is Butler has offers from Cal, Colorado, Illinois, Washington, Washington State, Northwestern, and Arizona State with teams like LSU, Michigan, Arizona, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, and Texas A&M all showing various levels of interest at one time or another.

Butler put together a six-game highlight reel calling his area of the field “The No Fly Zone” after not allowing a touchdown or even one pass to be caught on him so far this season. Butler’s reel is full of hard hits, bursts of speed in space tracking down the ball carrier, and of course showing off his cover skills. (To watch Butler’s reel via Hudl.com click the link)
