Stanford fans concerned about how the 2017 recruiting class may pull together is starting to breathe a little easier, especially since the middle of December. The Cardinal’s class pushed to 11 total commits over the weekend with defensive tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry and cornerback Paulson Adebo joining the haul.

Wade-Perry is the prototypical nose guard/tackle who can clog the middle stopping the run up the gut. Stanford won the commitment of the Englewood (NJ) standout over offers from 24 other programs. Top teams in the running included Notre Dame, Florida State, and UCLA. The 6-3, 341 pound, lineman had a breakout season during his junior campaign coming up with 40 tackles and three sacks for Pope John XXIII High School.

Stanford fans found out about Wade-Perry’s commitment on Twitter with a post reading, “Thank you to all the programs that have put their faith in me. I’d now like to announce my commitment to STANFORD UNIVERSITY! #CardClass17.”

Adebo was another steal for Stanford away from Notre Dame. The 6-2, 180 pound, speedster committed to the Fighting Irish on June 20 taking an official to South Bend on Oct. 15. On Jan. 9, five days ahead of his official to Palo Alto, the four-star recruit decommitted.

College coaches have been well aware of Adebo since his sophomore season when he earned Texas second team All-District honors as a receiver with 25 passes pulled in for 570 yards with six scores. Adebo solidified himself as one of the top all-around athletes in the 2017 class as a junior earning first team All-District honors at corner and receiver in 2015. He accomplished the same feat as a senior while also getting carries out of the backfield with Mansfield High School.

Stanford may only have 11 verbal commits on the way to possibly securing 25 players, but the guys committed are well liked by 247Sports. 247Sports rates the class No. 19 in the country, No. 3 in the Pac-12, with three five-star players in Foster Sarell, Walker Little, and Davis Mills. Rivals has the same group at No. 25 overall. Walker committed on Dec. 17 and Sarell committed on Jan. 7.
