Stanford lands California 4-star ATH Beau Bisharat over Oregon
The Pac-12 recruiting battle for running back/linebacker Beau Bisharat ended on Saturday with the Carmichael, California prospect verbally committing to Stanford.
Bisharat, 6’2”, 210 pounds, helped lead Jesuit High School to a 9-3 record in 2014 rushing for 1,651 yards with 23 touchdowns. He also pulled down 24 passes for 385 yards with an additional three scores.
With the success on the field came recognition from college recruiters. A total of 20 scholarship offers have been reported with seemingly every Pac-12 team making a run at Bisharat. Arizona, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, Washington, and Washington State all extended offers with UCLA and USC showing interest.
UCLA, Washington State, Washington, Oregon State, Oregon, and Stanford each hosted Bisharat on unofficial visits leading up to his commitment. Many believed Oregon was in the running after an April trip to the Ducks campus but a May 16, visit to Palo Alto proved to be the more influential influence.
The Cardinal is traditionally slow about adding verbal commitments to their recruiting classes but has been more proactive this year. Bisharat is the eighth commitment to the 2016 class and just the third from within the state.
