BRADENTON, Fla. – Commit early to a high-profile program like Oregon, teams will work even harder to land you. That is the case for Florida 2025 receiver Dallas Wilson (6-3, 193). The four-star gave his verbal pledge to the Ducks but teams continue to lay offers down and extend campus invites. From the Future 50 camp in Bradenton (Fla.), Wilson detailed his ongoing recruiting process.
Late spring visits were taken to Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and Tennessee. The time in Tuscaloosa was covered.
“Their coaches, they keep it real with you,” Wilson said. “They don’t sugarcoat nothing. They are after your best interest and want you to know what you are getting yourself into.”
The hang in Athens gave Wilson a family feel with receivers coach Bryan McClendon.
“Coach B-Mac, he is cool,” Wilson stated. “He’s like a good uncle. He always wants the best for you. He wants to know that you are striving to be your best, and what you are doing wrong, he will tell you what you are doing wrong. That’s coach B-Mac.”
Wilson had fun spending time with the Seminoles.
“I was with coach (Ron) Dugans (WR), it was good,” Wilson shared. “We were all chillin’, looking at the field, in his office just chopping it up and talking about the state of Florida players.
Two more in-state teams could see the four-star on campus soon.
“I don’t know right now, but I think I will visit UCF and Miami,” Wilson said.
What Wilson likes about the Knights was shared, “Their coaches, most definitely their coaches. The whole coaching staff, they keep in touch with me, and they know how to talk to me. They bring me in like family and make me feel like I am a family member. It is a good feeling.”
UCF moving to the Big 12 is a difference maker for Wilson.
“Most definitely,” Wilson stated. “The Big 12 is a big conference where players get noticed. That does change my thinking on them.”
The Hurricanes are staying on Wilson developing a strong bond.
“I love the Hurricanes,” Wilson said. “Coach (David) Cooney (QCA), he always stays in touch with me. He always talks positively about me. He is a good mentor to me as well, he just wants the best for me.”
Wilson scorched Florida 3M teams last fall pulling down 40 passes for 874 yards with 10 trips into the end zone. On special teams, he returned two kicks 61 yards and rode a 68-yard punt all the way back to the house.
