On Sunday, Tennessee lost Georgia safety Jaquan Henderson off their 2017 recruiting class on a flip to Georgia Tech but quickly filled the void on Monday with the addition of Florida running back Timothy Jordan.
Full 2016 season stats for Jordan were not posted but stats through just two games shows how dynamic of a playmaker he can be with the ball in his hands. In just two games, the 5-11, 189 pound, tailback had 51 carries for 468 yards with three touchdowns. With the opposition’s defense knowing he is getting the ball, Jordan’s 9.2 yard per carry average is very impressive.
College programs across the country have offered the Bartow High School star. Jordan was a one-time commit to Western Kentucky but with schools like North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Purdue, and Iowa State showing heavy recruiting interest, Jordan decommitted on Jan. 2. Jordan officially visited North Carolina on Jan. 13 taking his official to Knoxville over the weekend. Purdue had a scheduled official with Jordan on Jan. 27.
Jordan posted his commitment on Twitter Monday morning writing, “I will be committing to the university [sic] of Tennessee” coupled with a statement:
Rivals rates Tennessee’s 2017 class No. 26 in the nation with 26 commitments not having updated the addition of three-star running back Timothy Jordan to 27 commits. 247Sports rates the class No. 10 in the country, No. 6 in the SEC.
