If you’ve been in Texas’ Flower Mound area on Friday nights the last couple of weeks, the question circulating the stands is “who is Noah Spinks?” The answer has been provided on the field. The Jaguars have handed the ball to their freshman quarterback receiving immediate results. The future of the program helped end a four-game slide and now has Flower Mound winner of two consecutive looking for a playoff berth.

Starting the year at the JV level, the 2027 quarterback has successfully made the jump. In a 35-28 win over Plano, Spinks was 19 of 23 for 310 yards with two touchdowns.

The offense was explained, “We are a Spread offense, we pass the ball a lot.”

Weeklong preparation is the key to Spinks’ success.

“We watch film, look at all their coverages, see what we run, and see what works against them,” Spinks stated.

The rising talent gave detail to his pre-snap reads, “First thing is the safety. I look to see how far they are and then I look at the cornerback to see their leverage; are they back or up. Then I will pick the side, the matchup I want, and that is the side I work.”

No matter the angle, the pigskin is coming out hot.

“I’d say making plays off-platform and anticipating throws are strengths to my game,” Spinks shared.

Part of the weekly process for Friday night success is timing.

“I am making sure I have the receivers’ speeds the way I want, and I am working on timing routes with my feet,” Spinks said.

Making the summer rounds helped get Spinks’ name out there, the action on the varsity gridiron is going to bring those programs back around in a hurry.

“I went to some camps over the summer – Oklahoma, UNC (North Carolina), Clemson, and Auburn,” Spinks stated. “I talked to a lot of coaches there.”

Three possible game-day visits could line up this fall for Spinks.

“I want to go to Oklahoma, SMU, and TCU; those are three main ones,” Spinks shared.

The visits to the Power Five programs are not about bragging rights but about the chance to learn.

“I really want to see their facilities, see how it works, and see the differences between high school and college,” Spinks said. “I just want to see how it is.”

The Jaguars could push their regular season record to 6-4 if they claim wins over Coppell and Plano West in the coming weeks.
