The Texas Longhorns got some good news on Saturday when they landed highly recruited in-state cornerback Obi Eboh.
Eboh has 30 Division-I offers from top programs from around the nation including Oklahoma, Cal, Ole Miss, Boston College, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Washington, Pitt, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Duke, and Arkansas. The recruiting period with Texas may have been ongoing for months but the actual timeframe between offer and verbal commitment was short, just four days. Eboh was offered by the Longhorns on Sept. 1 with the commitment taking place on Sept. 5.
The 6’1.5”, 180 pound, athlete began making a name for himself as a sophomore coming up with 23 tackles and four pass breakups. In 2014 he had 56 tackles with five tackles for a loss while breaking up 11 pass becoming an all-purpose cornerback.
Texas now has nine verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class. The class is highlighted by quarterback Shane Buechele and wide receiver Reggie Hemphill-Mapps. Eboh is the first cornerback added to the class.
