Texas Longhorns Pick Up Commitment from 4-Star 2020 WR Troy Omeire
The Longhorns 2020 recruiting class got even stronger on Friday when four-star receiver Troy Omeire verbally committed to Texas. Omeire joins one of the top ranked classes in the nation helping bolster a group already filled with amazingly talent offensive players.
Omeire solidified himself as one of the country’s best receivers during the 2018 season after pulling in 46 passes for 782 yards with 13 touchdowns. As Omeire was leading his Fort Bend Bulldogs team in receiving, colleges were buying in on his recruiting stock value. The 6-3.5, 210-pound, target drew 31 reported scholarship offers before his commitment to Texas. The list was full of college football’s whose who: Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC, to name a few.
There has been no let up Omeire’s game during his senior season. In three games played, he has snagged 22 passes for 360 yards with four touchdowns, all team-highs for the Sugarland area product.

The Longhorns have the fifth ranked 2020 recruiting class in the nation comprised of one five-star, 15 four-star recruits, and four three-star talents. Omeire joins an already deep class of offensive talent with five-star running back Bijan Robinson of Salpointe Catholic (AZ), four-star dual-threat Hudson Card of Lake Travis (TX), four-star receiver/quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson out of Duncanville (TX), and four-star receiver Quentin Johnston from Temple (TX) atop the board.
