Kansas State went back into Texas on Sunday landing Giddings High School wide receiver Chabastian Taylor.

Taylor has been that do-everything kind of athlete for the Buffaloes helping his squad to a 12-1 mark as a junior. The 6-4, 208 pound, talent lined up at quarterback and receiver tallying all-purpose yards passing, running, and receiving. Taylor threw for 240 yards completing 15 passes with three scores and also rushed for 208 with two more scores. KSU sees the Lone Star State product playing wide receiver at the next level. In part time duty he pulled in 22 passes for 384 yards with eight more touchdowns.

Giddings is off to a 6-2 mark in 2016 against 4A competition with their under the radar talent standing out in the pocket, on the ground, and as a pass catching threat. Taylor has completed 10 of 19 passes for 159 yards with one touchdown while rushing for 268 yards with seven additional scores off 32 carries. Taylor has continued to show his big play potential snagging 16 passes for 324 yards, a 20.3 yard per reception average, with three more touchdowns.

Despite all the productivity, Taylor has not been widely recruited with offers extended from North Texas, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana-Lafayette. Taylor announced his commitment on Twitter Sunday night posting, “Blessed to announce that I have decided to verbally commit to Kansas State #EMAW #GoWildCats.”

Kansas State has been all over the recruiting trail in the 2017 class securing commits from nine different states. 247Sports rates the Wildcats class No. 66 in the nation, No. 8 in the Big 12, with Rivals ranking the haul No. 72 overall.
