The Oklahoma Sooners Add another Offensive Lineman with Johncarlo Valentin

The Oklahoma 2016 recruiting class is moving at a snail’s pace but is finally starting to take shape. Verbal commitment No. 16 was added on Thursday to the Sooners class when offensive lineman Johncarlo Valentin pledged.

The 6’5”, 335 pound, Philadelphia area talent became the fourth offensive line commit for Oklahoma in the 2016 class bypassing roughly 20 other scholarship offers. The Imhotep Institute Charter School product took the recruiting process serious unofficially visiting schools like Penn State, Temple, Auburn, Michigan, and Rutgers during the offseason. The teams in play appeared to be Oklahoma, with the Sooners hosting him on Sept. 4, Arizona State (Sept. 17), and an official set with Miami for Jan. 29.

Valentin made his announcement official via Twitter posting, “I would like to think [sic] every school that Recruited me.. But I am Officially Committed To The University of Oklahoma.”

Some of the highlighted players in Oklahoma’s class thus far include CB Jordan Parker, DT Chris Daniels, LB Bryce Youngquist, QB Austin Kendall, RB Abdul Adams, WR Ryan Parker, and CB Parrish Cobb, all 4-star recruits.
