The up and down flow of the recruiting cycle hit the Bulldogs on Thursday when multiple outlets reported three-star wide receiver Xavier Jenkins had decommitted from Georgia.

Jenkins saw his stock rise on recruiting boards during the 2015 season when he led Lowndes County in receiving yards pulling in 26 passes for 430 yards with eight scores while averaging 14.8 yards per reception.

The 6’3”, 197 pound, target was part of a dynamic forming offensive attack in the 2017 class that included four-star quarterback Jake Fromm along with four-star receiver Trey Blount and three-star receiver Matt Landers. Both Blount and Landers are measured over 6-foot 2-inches with Landers coming in at 6-foot 5-inches.

Jenkins committed on Feb. 18 after receiving an offer from UGA on Feb. 12. Other teams to offer Jenkins includes Louisville, East Carolina, and Mississippi State.

247Sports rates Jenkins the No. 94 wide receiver in the nation and the 59th best prospect in the Peach State.

Georgia still has a top class committed with 247Sports rating the Bulldogs with the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation.
