Texas produces talented college football recruits every year and the Class of 2016 is no different as high athletes from the Lone Star State will go out and play college football all over the country. Texas has produced many great NFL stars including current New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, and Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson.
One of the many areas in Texas that produces a wealth of great college football players is the 30 mile stretch between Dallas and Fort Worth. Some current college athletes from this area including Arkansas running back Jonathan Williams, Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman, and quarterback Kyler Murray who recently transferred from Texas A&M to Oklahoma.
Top Class of 2016 recruits from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex include Allen offensive lineman Gregory Little (Ole Miss), Arlington Lamar quarterback Shane Buechele (Texas), Sachse defensive back Jared Mayden (Oregon), DeSoto running back La’Darren Brown (Oklahoma State), and Plano running back Brandon Stephens (Stanford). However, there many top recruits in this area that are still weighing all their options before making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. These athletes are being looked at by college teams every day and have about four weeks before National Signing Day on Feb. 3 to pick their college of choice.
