Manatee High School (4-0) is rolling through their 2023 season behind a stingy defense that has only given up 68 points. The leader on the line dictating the opposition’s run and passing game is Tyreek’e Robinson. As the season wears on and Robinson shines, behind the scenes he is looking to wrap up his recruiting process with a top schools list coming and a commitment being planned for October.
Robinson (6-2, 320) is that guy offensive coordinators must scheme against on each play. The attention he receives on the gridiron has brought the same kind of spotlight along the recruiting trail with 18 offers in hand.
With Florida State and South Florida showing interest, three teams have been pushing the narrative with Robinson this fall.
“Louisville, Florida Atlantic, and UNC-Charlotte, those are the three that have been reaching out the most lately,” Robinson said.
Two of those teams are working to get their 2024 target on campus for a game-day visit.
“I am planning one in early October to FAU and another to Louisville, they are getting set up,” Robinson stated.
The relationship with the Tom Herman-led Owls was covered, “It is really good. They text me every couple of days and wish me good luck with my upcoming games.”
The communication with the Cardinals out of the ACC is much the same.
“It is the same thing with Louisville; we text on a daily basis every week,” Robinson shared. “We are talking about how things are going, how I am doing, how the family is doing, and they wish me good luck with the upcoming opponent.”
The offering teams for Robinson include Miami, Indiana, Colorado, Cincinnati, Auburn, NC State, Texas, USC, Maryland, and UCF. That list will be trimmed.
“Pretty soon, I am releasing my top five, but I am not sure when yet,” Robinson said. “My commitment date is within our bye week in mid-October. I will choose a day and post it on Twitter.”
On the process of choosing his five favorites, Robinson shared, “Their interactions with me, being consistent, keeping up to date and checking up on me, and the relationship that we have. Having a good program and being a strong academic school is important to me as well.”
