He racks up the yards with his arm, and absolutely smokes defenders with his legs – Legend Bey is a true dual threat quarterback. The rising star out of Frisco’s (Texas) Lone Star High School is a 2026 prospect college programs are already eagerly scouting.
Texas Tech has offered with next level scouts dropping by his Frisco campus to learn more.
“Monday morning, UCLA and Arkansas came by,” Bey said. “Last week Boise State came by and two weeks before that Texas A&M, Pitt State, and Tennessee came by.”
When scouts watch him throw this spring, Bey is operating the Rangers’ multifaceted offense.
“Our offense changes up,” Bey stated. “We run plays out of the shotgun with a lot of passing and RPOs (run-pass option).”
If defenses give Bey green grass, he has reported 4.34 laser-timed speed to take advantage of it. The footspeed is there, Bey is adding to his toolbelt working on his throwing mechanics this spring.
“I’m working on my passing game,” Bey shared. “I am a dual threat, but I want to pass more. I’m working on my drop backs, keeping my chest straight so I don’t lean when I throw, and I am working on keeping my feet under me at the right angle to throw harder and more accurate.”
Coaches from the Bruins and Razorbacks’ staff will return to watch Bey throw in practice among others. Bey will return the favor getting out in the coming weeks.
“I plan on visiting Arkansas, Texas, and Texas A&M,” Bey said.
Bey spoke briefly about each program and why he’s excited to be on campus.
Arkansas: “I get to go up there to see everything, and I get to see my cousin (DB) Jaylon Braxton. I get to see how he is doing up there.”
Texas: “The experience, the opportunity to play football, and getting to see what football can bring to people.”
Texas A&M: “Just to get to experience College Station.”
Bey wrapped the 2022 season credited with 2,250 yards passing and 28 touchdowns adding 975 yards on the ground with 15 more scores.
