College teams needing a do-all linebacker that can punish in the box and cover have targeted Kell High School linebacker Justin Logan. The 2024 defender has racked up 29 offers with heavy interest still flowing his way. The curious need to get popping, two official visits have been set for the Georgia product.
Missouri, NC State, and Maryland are among the squads buzzing Logan throughout the week. Those evaluating Logan are heading to Marietta to see him in action.
“There have been plenty of college coaches coming up to my school talking to me and evaluating me this spring,” Logan said. “Hopefully they will offer soon. Coach Jim Knowles from Ohio State, coach Brian Jean-Mary from Tennessee, and today Kansas State’s linebacker coach (Steve Stanard) came by. He is going to come back to check me out.”
Through March and April, Logan made the rounds visiting facilities.
“We did a mini road trip to Ohio seeing Cincinnati and Ohio State,” Logan stated. “Then we went to Tennessee and to West Virginia.”
The next round of trips will be paid for.
“So far, I have two set, but I will add on more,” Logan shared. “The two set are NC State, on June 9 most likely, and I am planning on taking one to Mizzou.”
The consistent messaging rom the Wolfpack has Logan ready to learn more about the program.
“Through this process they are the main people talking to me,” Logan said. “They have been keeping it real with me. The NC State coaches have been checking in on me and coming up to the school to see me. They offered the official visit to me; I didn’t have to ask them.”
A strong rapport with Missouri linebackers coach D.J. Smith has Logan’s respect.
“Coach D.J., their linebackers coach, he is the main one texting me and checking on me,” Logan stated. “A lot of colleges have a recruiting assistant texting you, but when it is the position coach, it means a lot more.”
Logan shared the list of other teams that could officially host him, “Some of the schools I am looking at are Cincinnati, GT (Georgia Tech), Arkansas, and West Virginia.”
