Working through 28 great next level opportunities is hard enough, but an even harder decision is ahead for Teddy Foster (6-1, 175). The three-star cornerback out of Sarasota’s Cardinal Mooney High School (Fla.) has two official visits wrapped up and a handful of other teams still on him. The recruiting journey for the 2024 prospect is still open but that window appears to be narrowing.

Foster updated which teams are lighting up his phone the most this summer.

“UNC has been hot on me, Florida, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Duke, and Kansas,” Foster said. “UNC and Florida have been on me the hardest.”

On June 16, the Gators got their prized target on campus for an official.

“It went really well,” Foster shared. “There was a lot of love there. They have a great atmosphere there. I talked to coach (Billy) Napier a lot about me going there; it was a really good weekend.”

Asked what impressed him during his time in Gainesville, Foster replied, “The culture there. The environment is healthy. I talked to the players about the coaching changes, they are loving it there. They have a great recruiting class; the kids that committed when I was there, it was a great atmosphere. It was a really good weekend overall.”

The Tar Heels put their best foot forward on June 9 during Foster’s official trip.

“That went really well too,” Foster said. “I talked to coach Mack Brown a lot; that was good. They really want me there. They need corners and defensive backs. UNC has a great atmosphere. They are like a family with a great culture. The players love the staff there.”

Asked about his future travel plans, Foster replied, “I had an official set with Miami, I think we will cancel that.”

After sharing he was cancelling an opportunity to officially visit the Hurricanes, Foster was asked if he’s down to two schools.

“Not fully yet,” Foster stated. “UNC and Florida are at the top of my list right now, but there are some schools I am still talking to. It is not official yet. I plan to announce that soon, in the next couple of weeks. I feel I am in a good space to back up and see what I want. Everything is clearing up now after the visits.”

Foster continued, “There is a small chance I will take another official visit. I have been on the phone a lot today. As of right now there are no other visits planned. A lot of them want it, but this weekend is important to my family; it is the two-year anniversary of my grandmother’s passing.”

If it comes down to Florida, North Carolina, and any other school, Foster was asked how he will make his final determination on where he will play college ball.

“Probably just my feel for it,” Foster shared. “At this point, with every school, I have been detailed about making the decision. It is easy to compare the facilities, but it is more about the culture and the situation I will be in at that school. It is about the feel for me.”

A decision could be announced next month.

“July is feeling good for me right now,” Foster stated. “Late July would be the earliest. That will give me time to sit back and make that decision. If not in July, early August or around the beginning of the season.”
