UCLA Lands 3-Star 2017 Arizona OL Jax Wacaser

UCLA added their third Class of 2017 recruit from Arizona on late Tuesday night when Saguaro High School’s Jax Wacaser verbally committed to the Bruins.

Wacaser lined up at right tackle for the Sabercats during his senior season helping his Scottsdale squad to a perfect 14-0 season against 4A competition. Wacaser helped blow open holes for another 2,000-yard season for senior running back Stone Matthews while protecting Max Massingale on the way to a 2,291 yard passing campaign with 30 touchdowns tossed against just four picks.

College coaches love the frame, speed, and grittiness Wacaser brings to the field. Wacaser is quick to get to the next level, plays smart, is fundamentally sound, and plays with that nasty attitude college coaches love.

UCLA won out on the 6-5, 260 pound, lineman over nearly 20 other offers. Among the many hoping to pull him to their campus next season included Cal, Oregon, Kansas, Northwestern, San Jose State, Hawaii, Kansas, UNLV, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Utah, and Washington State. Wacaser posted his commitment announcement on Twitter:

247Sports rates the Bruins 2017 class with 14 total commits No. 20 in the country, No. 3 in the Pac-12. Jaelan Phillips and Darnay Holmes are both considered five-star talents while Greg Rogers, Jimmy Jaggers, and Rahyme Johnson are rated as four-star prospects. The Bruins have picked up commitments from two other Arizona talents, defensive ends My-King Johnson and Cassius Peat.
