UCLA loses WR Devin Lucien at start of spring practices

UCLA started spring practices on Tuesday and shortly thereafter lost one of their top wide receivers, Devin Lucien.

Bruins head coach Jim Mora announced after the first of 14 scheduled spring practices that Lucien was leaving the team. In his post practice meeting with the media Mora stated, “He has decided to go a different direction. I thought I knew what that direction was, but as of this morning I don’t know. But he will not be a part of this program anymore.”

Lucien was third on the Bruins squad during the 2014 season pulling down 29 passes for 225 yards with two scores. The 6’1”, 200 pound, Los Angeles area native finishes his UCLA career with 58 receptions, 752 yards, and four touchdowns.

Early reports indicate that the redshirt senior will seek a transfer as a graduated senior allowing him to play for any Division-I school without having to sit out a season per normal NCAA transfer rules.
