There is always a lot of pressure playing for one of California’s high school powerhouse football programs. When called upon by Chaminade High School coaches, guys either rise to the occasion or wilt under the pressure. During his junior season, Chris Rankins proved he belonged on the field with anyone at any time coming up with 49 tackles, six passes broken up, four interceptions, and one forced fumble for the Eagles playing safety and corner. For his efforts, Rankins was awarded first team All-Mission League and has been presented with three scholarship offers thus far; Army, Montana State, and New Mexico. The list of potential offerees is growing with Cal, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and UCLA among the many schools showing interest.
In a Recruiting News Guru catch-up interview, I sat down for a quick one-on-one with the LA area product to get the inside scoop on his spring workouts and recruiting process.
