USC lands verbal commitment from Glendora QB Matt Fink
On Monday the USC Trojans added their first quarterback to their 2016 class landing Glendora High School’s Matt Fink.
Fink, 6’3”, 185 pounds, led the Tartans into the second round of the California High School playoffs as junior passing for 1,386 yards completing 96 of 165 attempts with 10 touchdowns against three picks. The dual-threat signal caller added 725 yards rushing on 75 carries with another 10 scores three times rushing for over 100 yards in a game.
With 14 reported Division-I scholarship offers on the table, the Trojans landed Fink over offers from Washington, Notre Dame, Kansas, Cal, Colorado, Washington State, Boston College, Oregon State, and Boise State. Fink had an unofficial visit to both USC and UCLA in March.
Chances are Fink will be the only quarterback signed to the Trojans recruiting class unless a player currently on the roster transfers. USC signed two quarterbacks to their 2015 class, 4-star Sam Darnold (San Clemente) and 4-star Ricky Town (St. Bonaventure).
The Trojans have gone heavy on offense in the early going picking up five of seven verbal commitments on that side of the ball.
