The Utes 2017 recruiting class is heading in the wrong direction after suffering two decommitments on Thursday. The loss, for now, looms large dropping the class of just eight recruits down to six.
When Utah added cornerbacks Zyon and Tristin McCollum on June 16, it was a packaged deal. No surprise to see the brothers decommit at the same time. The only other listed offer for the brothers is Sam Houston State.
Zyon plays safety for Ball High School while Tristin lines up at cornerback. The duo have suffered through a tough senior season seeing the Tornadoes post a 3-7 record against 5A Texas competition. The brothers endured another tough moment to their season making their announcement on Twitter (Zyon’s account):
247Sports rates the class No. 100 in the nation, No. 12 in the Pac-12. Rivals ranks the class No. 90 overall, but still has both McCollum brothers on the commitment list.
