Darnay Holmes is truly a wanted man. On or off the high school playing fields, the 5-star talent is sought after by college coaches and called out by other recruits hoping to make a name for themselves going up against perhaps the best cornerback in the 2017 recruiting class.

The colleges lining up in hopes of securing his signature on National Signing Day are among the best in the nation with a total of around 30 offers. Some of the hopefuls include Stanford, UCLA, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma, USC, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Utah, Arizona State, Ohio State, and Cal – just to name a few.

What is all the fuss about? Holmes was part of a stacked 2015 Calabasas High School team that posted a 13-2 mark. The 5’11”, 185 pound, talent was a three-way star for the Coyotes rushing 34 times for 242 yards with three scores and caught 55 passes for 886 yards with 10 more touchdowns. On special teams he racked up 213 kick return yards off five attempts with a 95-yard return on his resume and returned 12 punts 343 yards with a 78-yarder added to his highlight reel.

On defense, most teams did not test Holmes, or if they did, not too much. He closed his junior season with 31 tackles, 23 solo, adding a forced fumble, two picks and 10 passes defended.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I got a few minutes with Holmes to go over his offseason schedule and received a recruiting news update. I also found out that Holmes is ready to prove his talents anywhere and at any time. During the video interview a very subtle warning was given to participants of the Nike Opening regional in Atlanta.
