While getting the proverbial keys to a Cadillac is great, but getting the keys to a high performance sports car like a Ferrari is even better.  When Real Mitchell is officially handed the keys to the high performing St. John Bosco football team in 2016… watch out!

Over the last three seasons, the right to be a state champion in California has gone through St. John Bosco and Centennial. The last two Bosco quarterbacks, Josh Rosen (UCLA) and Quentin Davis (Fresno State), have both gone onto Division-I programs ready to further add to their gridiron folklore. The next in line to lead the Braves to glory is Class of 2018 rising star Re-al Mitchell.

Bosco only had two close games last year allowing Mitchell substantial time on the field. In 12 games, Mitchell completed 18 of 34 passes for 299 yards with two touchdowns tossed against just one interception. In his own words, the 6’0”, 180 pound, talent is a quarterback who can run not just looks for an opportunity to run. When Mitchell ran last year he did it well. He covered 560 yards on 44 attempts sporting a 12.7 yard per carry average scoring the pigskin seven times.

Bosco will once again be loaded with talent in 2016, and Mitchell will have his time in the spotlight for the next two seasons to show what he can do running the Braves offense. He already has one reported offer from Cal-Poly but is drawing interest from UCLA, USC, and Oregon.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Mitchell at the Nike Opening regional in Los Angeles going over his sophomore season under center at Bosco, covered his offseason schedule, and received a recruiting news update.
