Salesian High School is loaded with Class of 2017 talent entering the 2016 season and one of the leaders of the bunch is 4-star recruit Deommodore Lenoir.
Lenoir was a jack of all trades for the Mustangs last season lining up at wide receiver, cornerback, and as a kick returner. The 6’0”, 188 pound, athlete also led his team in rushing yards with 563 off 56 carries with five scores. He was lethal on the outside with 18 receptions covering 354 more yards with for more scores. In just nine attempts, Lenoir had 572 kick return yards with a long of 92 yards scoring 12 total touchdowns on the season.
The bigger debate over which Division-I Power Five program might get his signature on National Signing Day is which position to line him up at in college. His all-around offensive numbers were great, but Lenoir prefers cornerback where he had 48 tackles, 39 solo, five tackles for a loss, one interception, three passes defended, and one forced fumble.
To date, 22 schools have offered the Los Angeles area talent with program like Arizona State, Michigan, Miami, LSU, Cal, Boise State, Oklahoma, Boston College, Northwestern, Mississippi State, UCLA, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Washington State, Texas A&M, and Nebraska hoping to lay the groundwork leading to a commitment. Schools like Ohio State, USC, and Oregon are showing heavy interest but have not dropped the offer yet.
In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Lenoir at the Nike Opening regional in Los Angeles to get an overview on his offseason schedule and a recruiting news update.
