The Huskies added a winning pedigree piece to their 2017 class on Thursday pulling California linebacker Ariel Ngata to Seattle.
Ngata joined Folsom High School for the 2015 season helping the Bulldogs to a 14-1 record coming up just shy of another state championship. Ngata had 80 tackles, 47 solo, four sacks, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries during his junior year.
Washington was named one of Ngata’s leaders during the spring and kept true despite more and more offers coming in from top Division-I programs. Some of the schools to offer Ngata includes Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, BYU, Boise State, Oregon State, Colorado State, UNLV, Washington State, and Utah.
Ngata posted his decision on Twitter writing, “A little earlier than expected but proud to announce that I have COMMITTED to the UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON. “ #GoDawgs.” Ngata broke down his decision and gave thanks with an announcement statement:
Washington now has eight verbal commitments to their 2017 class. The class is highlighted by four 4-star recruits; Terrell Bynum, Marlon Tuipulotu, Hunter Bryant, and Keith Taylor.
