The Huskies landed their sixth recruit ranked as a four-star prospect on Friday when in-state running back/defensive back Salvon Ahmed committed to Washington.
Ahmed starting jumping on recruiting boards after tearing through Washington Class 3/2A competition in 2015. The all-around athlete helped his Rebels squad to a 9-3 mark making contributions all over the field. The Rebels are off to a 1-2 start this season but Ahmed’s time on the field has been limited after breaking his left hand.
What Washington is getting in Ahmed is a game changer with breakaway speed. The 6-0, 185 pound, talent has great field vision and is a one-cut and gone kind of runner with a little shake as needed.
The nation found out about Ahmed’s commitment on Twitter but those in attendance to his announcement ceremony got the good news first. Ahmed posted, “Officially committed to the University Of Washignton!! GO DAWGS.”
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl invitee picked the Huskies over offers from Notre Dame, Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, Mississippi State, Utah, Oregon State, and Arizona State.
247Sports ranks the Huskies class No. 21 in the nation and No. 3 overall in the Pac-12.
