Washington Huskies QB Cyler Miles takes leave of absence
For the second consecutive spring practice session the Washington Huskies will be without starting quarterback Cyler Miles per an announcement made on Friday.
Second-year Huskies head coach Chris Petersen released a statement on Friday updating Miles’ status as a voluntary leave of absence not a disciplinary action. During spring practices in 2014 Miles was suspended from the Huskies football program following two assault cases.
Petersen’s announcement stated Miles is “dealing with some things in his life that are more important that football.”
Miles is still enrolled at the University of Washington.
During the 2014 season the Centennial, Colorado native through for 2,129 yards with 16 touchdowns against three picks. He also rushed for 280 yards with an additional four scores.
The Huskies will go through their spring session with Jeff Lindquist, K.J. Carta-Samuels, and Jake Browning as the only quarterbacks on the squad.
