Washington State pulled off a small coup on Monday when California three-star commit Isaiah Hodgins verbally committed to the Cougars.
The production Hodgins has put up against opposing California defenses over the past two seasons has been nothing short of amazing. During his sophomore season he hauled in 76 passes for 1,069 yards with 17 scores and then topped that mark during his junior year with 1,483 yards off 94 receptions with 23 more touchdowns. He added to his all-around game rushing for 62 yards with another score while adding 613 yards off 19 punt returns on special teams.
The 6’3”, 187 pound, talent even filled in on defense coming up with 36 stops, 33 solo, one tackle for a loss, 11 passes defended, and a team-high six interceptions as a free safety for Berean Christian High School.
Recruiting efforts on Hodgins really took off in the spring seeing his offers hit the double-digit mark with teams like Michigan, Boise State, Colorado, Hawaii, San Jose State, Wyoming, Colorado State, Washington, and Nebraska all put scholarships on the table.
Hodgins announcement went public Monday night via a post on Twitter reading, “COMMITTED… #GoCougs” followed by a statement:
