The Cougars coaching staff has made great inroads into southern California with the 2017 recruiting class pulling out yet another three-star talent. The latest California recruit to pledge to Washington State is safety Josh Talbott.
Talbott was a key contributor for Long Beach Poly High School. The Jackrabbits posted a 7-4 record this season with their standout safety coming up with 35 tackles, two tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, six passes defended, and two interceptions with stats posted through 10 games.
The win on the recruiting trail was big for WSU. The Cougars battled against Pac-12 foes UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado along with other Power Five teams like Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Purdue, and Texas A&M. Talbott posted a commitment statement on Twitter:
The Cougars 2017 recruiting class is ranked No. 60 in the nation, No. 10 in the Pac-12 by 247Sports. Rivals ranks the class No. 59 in the country.
